Wiring Looms.

Walker Scott Ltd is a specialist in the manufacture of wiring harnesses utilising modern production methods and state of the art machinery.

Our high versatility allows us to build looms ranging from small interconnecting looms through to large multi wire engine and chassis harnesses.

We have experience in production of many types of harness including military specification product and looms used in harsh environmental conditions.

A strong relationship with our suppliers allows us to offer very competitive quotations for all products.

Battery Cables

We are also specialists in the manufacture of battery cables.

We can use varying specifications of cable, ranging in size from 10mm square through to 95mm square.

Small leads used in ride on lawn mowers and larger cables used on agricultural vehicles are all within our current product availability.

Flexible cable coupled with an assortment of cable protections guarantee every possible requirement can be fulfilled. Adding this to top quality manufacturing techniques ensures a long life of product and exceptional performance in the field.

Higher Level Assemblies

Walker Scott not only produces wiring products, but have great experience in the manufacture of higher level assemblies.

We fit our harnessing to a broad spectrum of applications including control panels, dashboards and heating equipment.

Current production also includes on site fittings of U.P.S. cabinets, for which we supply the required cabling.

Most permutations of panel work can be undertaken within our specialised mechanical assembly department.

Handistep

Since the introduction of Handistep during 2001 this unique step is now recognised as an OEM approved safety related product for van fleet operators and owner operators of Light Commercial Vehicles.

Handistep has been designed to offer anti-slip, self cleaning treads mounted onto a strong metal frame, offering full width safety step treads for operatives loading roof mounted equipment as well as loading goods in / out of high roof vehicles.

Handistep is now even more important since the introduction of the Corporate Manslaughter Bill 220EN, particularly the section covering “Relevant Duty of Care” whereby Fleet Managers must carry out a full risk assessment covering safe loading and unloading of equipment as mobile workshops / delivery vehicles are now regarded as the operatives place of work.

The Handistep range has continued to grow with Major Fleets now specifying this unique product knowing the system has been manufactured under an ISO 9001 (2008) certified quality system and meets both TUV and ELVD directives.

With ever increasing legislation that surrounds “Duty of Care”, Handistep now offers even greater safety with the introduction of a NEW UNIQUE YELLOW HANDISTEP.

Handistep take Health & Safety very seriously and all product now features high visual red reflective tape as part of the standard specification to address Highways legislation (Chapter 8) directives which became mandatory in 2009.
